    Yes, we provide telephone and video interpreting across Europe.

    Usually within 20 minutes, always within a few hours.

  • Can I request additional services like translations?

    No, only interpreting services.

  • How do I know if I need a sworn interpreter?

    Check this yourself. For ‘lawyer/court’ and ‘notary’ situations, all interpreters are sworn.

  • Costs and Payment

  • Why do interpreter rates vary?

    Interpreters set their own hourly rates based on experience and specialization.

  • How are travel costs calculated?

    Based on distance and travel time, included in the interpreter’s travel fee.

  • What is included in the all-in rate?

    Interpreting, travel, and service fees. VAT and extra work are not included.

  • How is preparation time charged?

    If an interpreter needs to prepare, this is billed separately. Agree on this beforehand.

  • What happens if the service takes longer than booked?

    Extra time is charged, but the interpreter is not obligated to stay longer.

  • What if the service is shorter than booked?

    You still pay the full quoted amount.

  • What are the cancellation fees?

    Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the appointment. After that, the full amount is charged.

  • What if I use my own video calling software?

    You are responsible for the technical setup. Test it beforehand to avoid issues.

  • Can an interpreter cancel an assignment?

    Yes, but Tolk2Go will do its best to find a replacement.

  • Billing and Payments

  • How can I pay?

    Via iDEAL, Bancontact, Sofort, PayPal, or bank transfer within 1 or 2 days.

  • Do I pay before or after the service?

    Depends on the booking. Sometimes a deposit is required.

  • Can I pay by invoice?

    Companies can pay within 7 days of the invoice date.

  • Where do I enter my VAT number?

    During the invoice details confirmation in the booking process.

  • What if my conversation partner or I don’t show up?

    You will be charged the full amount.

  • Can I pause or delete my account?

    Yes. Pausing cancels bookings but keeps your profile. Deleting your account removes all personal data except legally required information.

  • Does Tolk2Go provide equipment?

    No, except in rare cases where an interpreter provides a whisper set.

  • When will I get my deposit refunded?

    Within two working days after the assignment, adjusted for any extra work.

  • Are interpreters bound by confidentiality?

    Sworn interpreters have a professional duty of confidentiality.
